Where The Heart Is - A Film by John Boorman
In the film, Suzi Amis plays an artist who graduates from college with a 16mm film involving tromp l’oeil body painting. The artist and her siblings are kicked out of home by their father and move into a derelict house. She is then commissioned to produce a calendar for an insurance company called, ‘Insure Yourself Against Acts Of God’. She incorporates her family and friends into these paintings, and uses the walls of the house as her canvas. Thus changing their environment into a fantasy world.
“The character of Chloe, the artist, is drawn from Timna Woollard. Timna developed a technique of painting bodies into landscapes and photographing them.”
John Boorman
